Technology parameters can be controlled by settings or by technological knowledges. Which way is better?

Configuring settings in the CAM systems was the common way for specifying the processing technology. By changing separate, weakly connected with each other parameters, the user can create different processing technologies.

Managing the parameters by settings is still available in Vintech RCAM, but a significantly more powerful method for automatic control of technology parameters is implemented in the system.

In the system database are maintained descriptions of the technological environment and processing technology rules. The definitions prepared beforehand include the complete capabilities of every possible technology and are represented as Technological Knowledge Base (TKB).

The material, the thickness, the processing type and the specific condition of the technological environment enable Vintech RCAM to determine the necessary processing technology in the current zone of the plate during the design process. At any time and stage in the project the user is able to modify the processing technology as well as the already applied technological parameters.
